Processing Times

C.Tech. and C.E.T. applicants are given 1 year to complete the application requirements and applicable exam(s). A completed application can take 3-4 months to go through the multi-level review process.

ASET Professional Practice Exam Fee: $252
ASET Certification Exam Fee (if applicable): $252

Requirements

The certification application has multiple streams depending on the applicant’s academic eligibility, official transcripts or academic assessments will be required to show proof of education. All applicants are required to write the ASET Professional Practice Exam (PPE) and you may need to additionally write the ASET Certification Exam if applicable. To evaluate the eligibility of your work experience, the applicant will complete a Competency Summary logbook with work experience in the last 5 years. Additionally, you must currently have at least 24 months of experience within the last 5 years in the discipline of your education, or 48 months if you’re now practicing in another discipline. The application also requires the submission of a current resume, job description, proof of identity and a minimum of 3 work related references. ASET's Board of Examiners requires the applicant to demonstrate professional competency in their field of practice.

ASET Professional Practice Exam (Ethics)

The ASET Professional Practice Exam tests applicants for C.Tech. and C.E.T. on their knowledge of the Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act and related regulations of the practice of applied science, information, and engineering technology in accordance with section 13(1)(c) of the ASET Regulations. This exam is required by all C.E.T. and C.Tech. applicants.
